Welcome to Ontrack Disk Manager DOS Version 9.57! To install your hard disk, simply follow these basic steps:
1) Physically install your hard disk into your computer. Disk Manager assumes power, cables, jumpers, etc., are connected and properly installed.
2) Copy all of these files onto a blank, formatted diskette.
3) Insert the diskette in drive A: and boot the machine.
4) Follow the onscreen instructions to format and partition your hard
drive.
This software works with all popular brands of hard disks.
Disk Manager is copyright 1985-2000 by ONTRACK Data International, Inc.
Posters note: This formats your drive in FAT32. If you want NTFS instead on a drive you have formatted but not installed files, just run the newly formatted drive along with your regular drive & do this:
* Bring up Windows Explorer
* Right-Click the newly formatted drive
* Select [FORMAT] & (NTFS) [QUICK FORMAT]
If you already have Windows on the FAT32 drive & you want to change it to NTFS,
just do this:
* [START][RUN]cmd (to bring up a Command Prompt window)
* Then type in: convert c:/fs:ntfs
Your file system will be converted from FAT32 to NTFS underneath your existing Operating System & files without damaging anything. If you have any trouble, just bring up a Command Prompt and type in: help convert and instructions will come up.
ITS 100% WORKING DOS BASED SOFTWARE. JUST COPY ALL FILES IN BOOTABLE USB CD/DVD, FOLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND ENJOY
ReplyDeleteThis software has really helped me out! My old ACER laptop never supported large Hard Disk Drives, probably due to BIOS limitation. Even when it was still new, I quickly found the factory installed 40GB HDD way too small for my needs, but the new 250GB HDD I tried to install was simply not recognised to its full capacity by my retarded ACER laptop. I got the Ontrack Disk Manager 9v57 way back then, and have been running without any major issues for over five years. Recently I had problem with the HDD itself and MBR etc got coruupted, and I lost my install of Ontrack Disk Manager. I thought all was lost! Thanks to informationsedge for providing a working link to this vital software and getting me up and running once again!
