Gizmo Project 4.0

*JV*
Gizmo VoIP client is one that can fairly be relied upon to make phone calls through your computer for easy and free.

Gizmo is a free phone for your computer that can facilitate you to make phone calls as easy as instant messaging. Key feature of this application includes Unlimited Free calls, Free calling to landline and mobile phone by using the All Calls Free plan, Chat with Windows Live Messenger, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, and Gizmo users, Free voicemail, and much more other features.

Gizmo interface is very compact and easy to learn. Equipped with the tab at the top just below the menu bar and a series of commands like Chat and Add Contact available at the bottom. There are some differences between the design and Gizmo VoIP applications, the other major competitors, but the very thing that makes it unique compared to other applications Gizmo.

Just like Skype, Gizmo provides free VoIP for computer-to-computer voice chat and text chat. Gizmo also allows computer-to-telephone voice chat for mobile phone and landline (fixed line / home phone). Only, Gizmo has a feature that is not owned by Skype (the current version of this article was written), that Gizmo allows you to take a conference call using a PC by inserting a random number.

However, although basically Gizmo application is based on the features of VoIP, it was not just the ability to communicate by voice call is owned by Gizmo. Apparently, this software has some other interesting features which add to the high value of this software in our eyes like the features of Instant Messaging, File Sharing, Video Calls, including the ability to send SMS from and to your Gizmo account.

Overall, the sound quality of the software is very impressive, with no lagging and echo the call made. Gizmo also provides asymmetrical chat-client VoIP, so you can use Gizmo and your headset to talk with someone in Windows Live or Google talk.

On the whole, too, Gizmo has some good things and some opportunities to be improvised to be even better. So in our opinion, if you currently are not happy with Skype or just interested in trying other VoIP software, you should try this program first.
