To help you manage your Linux-based server remotely easily and quickly, PuTTY is a software that can be relied upon. Our own use PuTTY for our various purposes server administration.

PuTTY is an SSH and telnet client application, developed originally by Simon Tatham for the Windows platform or operating system. PuTTY is an open source software is available with source code and developed and supported by a group of volunteers (volunteer). Name PuTTY itself does not have a definitive meaning, though 'tty' is the name for a terminal in UNIX, generally used as an abbreviation of the Teletype.

PuTTY was originally written for Windows operating systems, but has been ported to other operating systems. Official ports are available for several UNIX-like platforms, such as platform Mac OS classic and Mac OS X, and unofficial ports have been contributed to platforms such as Symbian and Windows Mobile. As mentioned before, PuTTY is written and maintained primarily by a man named Simon Tatham and is currently able to use without the need mengerluarkan cost.

Some of the features on this software are:

- Save the host and the preference for use in the future.

- Control over the SSH encryption key and protocol version.

- Command-line SCP and SFTP clients, called "pscp" and "psftp".

- Control over port forwarding with SSH (local, remote or dynamic port forwarding), including the handling of X11 forwarding integrated (built-in).

- Emulates most xterm, VT102 control sequences, as well as ECMA-48 terminal emulation.

- Support for IPv6, and support for 3DES encryption algorithm, AES, Arcfour, Blowfish, and DES, and has a public-key authentication support.

Supports local serial port connection (local serial port connection).

- Self-contained executable does not require installation.
