SharpReader 0.9.7

*JV*
SharpReader is so far our favorite RSS reader software. Features according to our very reliable and also easy to use.

SharpReader is a software RSS / Atom Aggregator for Windows operating systems made by someone named Luke Hutteman. By using SharpReader, you can manage all your RSS feeds easily and effectively, and especially you can use it for free. Prior to running SharpReader, you need to install Microsoft. NET Framework, at least version 2.0 or version 1.1. If you have not installed Microsoft. NET framework, you can search and download it first.

Some of the key features found on SharpReader are: it can handle all versions of RSS, ATOM 0.3 and 1.0; advanced threading support allowing you to view all items that relate to the threaded view; grouping feeds by category that can be customized; feed settings like refresh-rate and purge timeout can be adjusted per feed or per category, with Feedster integration to easily find sites based on specific search keywords; supports proxy servers and proxy authentication; reduce the use of bandwidth by using HTTP Conditional GET and gzip / deflate encoding; hidden in the system tray; easy keyboard navigation; HTTP Authentication support and others.

Interestingly, SharpReader also provides a plugin that you can use. SharpReader use plugin based on the standard IBlogExtension. Plugins can be installed in a way to extract them into the plugins sub-directory within the folder or directory on your computer SharpReader. Available plugins include plugin w.bloggar, BlogThisUrl, WB Editor, MailItem, and PWAIN.

Unfortunately, this software was last updated in 2006, so that all its not clear whether it can run well on the latest version of the Windows operating system or not. The recommended operating system for use SharpReader software include Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows NT. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, the publisher has not provided a special version for the Windows version, but you can still download and try. Given SharpReader is available for free, then it would not hurt for you to try this aggregator software.
